e-NRG bioethanol is a high quality, clean burning fuel specifically formulated for use in liquid ethanol fuelled ventless fireplaces. Also known as denatured alcohol or ethanol, bioethanol is a naturally derived fuel made from fermented plant sugars. e-NRG is the only brand of bioethanol that has been tested with and recommended for use in EcoSmart Fire burners. The burning of this fuel creates nothing more than heat, water vapour and carbon dioxide – a cleaner heating solution for you and the environment.
Is e-NRG bioethanol environmentally friendly?
e-NRG is a clean fuel source on two fronts. First, ethanol comes from fermented plant sugars, so it is derived from completely natural renewable sources. And when it is burned, the only byproduct is heat, steam and carbon dioxide - no messy pollutants like soot, smoke and ash.
Can I use my existing fireplace even though the flue is blocked off?
Yes, with a bioethanol burner, you are able to bring back a real flame into your existing fireplace with no flue required. Bioethanol is a clean-burning fuel.
How long will bioethanol burn for?
It will depend on the ethanol burner you’ll be using e-NRG in and the ambient conditions. As a general rule of thumb, e-NRG will burn at a rate of approximately 1 quart (1L) every 1-2 hours.
Are bioethanol fireplaces refilled?
EcoSmart Fires are easily filled with a proprietary safety jerry can, which features a special dispensing nozzle designed to use in dedicated filling points, which means it’s clean, safe and fast to refill and re-light to enjoy.
Can other ethanol brands be used in place of e-NRG?
e-NRG is the only bioethanol fuel recommended for your ethanol fireplace. e-NRG has been produced for the lowest odor, most vibrant flame, and longest burn time on the market. The e-NRG fuel packaging, operational procedure, accessories and formula has undergone rigorous third party testing with all EcoSmart Fire ethanol fireplaces. We have not worked with or tested other bioethanol fuel brands in conjunction with our burners and cannot speak to their performance or safety. Other bioethanol fuel brands can also leave residue or unsightly staining. Use of any other ethanol fuel may damage your unit and void your warranty.
